Monday, June 27, 2011 @ 4:12 PM As you all know, over the past two weeks, I went to China. And then in China, I was bored and read some of the newspaper articles, and some of them really intrigued me (they are in English by the way, China's English is really not too bad actually). "Guys, want to look sexy and get the girl? Don't smile too much. Look brooding or show a bit of shame instead. Girls, ignore that advice. A survey showed that women find happy men less sexually attractive than those with expressions that show pride or hint that they have done something wrong and know it, according to Canadian researchers." Well, that is so true. All the guys I love (from stories) are all vain and bad attitude ppl that seldom smiles, only smiling rarely to the ppl they truly love. Ah~ what a beautiful character, what a cool (sexy I presume) guy. Example: Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist. He's always acting cool and not smiling, and sometimes giving that damn, stop caring about me look but you're caring about me and I'm acting as if I don't care but I do actually. And Ryoma Echizen from Prince of Tennis. Extremely un-standably rude and cocky. But you know what? I like it. :D And Hitsugaya Toushiro. He's not exactly proud, but his facial expression is just pretty damn cool and sexy. (Not smiling obviously, and even when he smiles, it's those smirking kind) I can list you a thousand more anime characters that are like that and made it to the top ten most popular male anime characters. Even in books. While reading Harry Potter I didn't care much about Harry, and instead I was in total love with James and Sirius. They are so cool (from the book at least). James is portrayed as this irritatingly vain kid while Sirius just seemed cool. So when I imagined them, I imagaine Sirius not smiling, and James having this proud smirk on his face. Sexy. So yeah, from my experience, this study about brooding men being sexy, is totally true. Continue on the article: "Men who smile were considered fairly unattractive by women, but men's reaction was just the opposite. Women who smile are absolutely very attractive to them." Oh yes, I can name you another thousand girls in anime/book/drama with a stupidly annoying girl that smiles just way too much and in the end got the super sexy guy. :/ "The researchers admit they are not sure why men and women reacted differently to smiles. In a man, a big smile may make him appear too feminine or more desperate for sex. The study also adds fuel to the notion that women are attracted to bad boys. 'Women are attracted to men like James Dean, Edward the vampire, the men who are flawed, but who know it and are tortured by it' added Tracy. A slightly downcast expression of shame is an appeasement gesture that hints at a need for sympathy. Men also found sexual attractiveness in women whose expressions and body language hinted at shame." Wow okay I didn't know that (the previous sentence). But I've nothing to be ashamed of! I'm such a great girl! "The researchers stressed they looked only at initial reactions of sexual attractiveness, and were not recommending men adopt a no-smile policy for a long-term relationship." Haha yes if you really don't smile at all I'd totally think there's something wrong with you xD And that's about it for the weird China article about sexy men and women. People, smile more :DD (or act ashamed.) Anyway in China I watched mtv, and I heard this really awesome song. Super nice with awesome melody and extremely touching lyrics. Ah, I almost cried when I first heard it. :') And his voice is not bad :D Labels: chinese pop, liwei
