FINALLY a kpop post! xD more like a kpop argumentative crappy essay
I'm not sure if Onew fainted, whether he was hospitalised, or whether he really did suffer oxygen defiency. There's no concrete evidence to anything, yet. But what I know is that something definitely happened to him, just that different rumours are flying in different directions and I've now no idea which to believe.
A post appeared on a tumblr I was reading today, and it's title was something about fans being outraged about how SM treats onew - like a robot which doesn't require rest.
SM is a hot topic among ALL if not most kpop fans, because of the many controversies and lawsuits circling them. It's like... a political taboo?! (doesn't seem social to me). Because of that, everytime something happens to their artists, the blame goes DIRECTLY to them, yes no doubt at all.
I'm not afraid to admit that I am near to using the word "HATE" about how I feel towards SM. However, there are always two sides to an argument. SM overworks their artists and treats them like humans who don't need a life of their own, but at the same time they pump in lots and lots and lots of money to groom them to become idols not just well known in Korea, but also in many (and I mean it, many) parts of the world. You can argue that there's no point in being popular while you're struggling to survive both physically and mentally without your family members by your side. But think about all the lawsuits : the artists sue SM for the way-too-long-contracts and unfair treatment etc. But that's what happens not just in the entertainment industry, but also in any average office in Singapore. Some people work overtime, some people don't, some employers are biased and stuff. But the difference is that any average worker wouldn't be able to afford to buy a car or a house for their parents or siblings when they're just around the mere age of 20.
I'm not defending SM or anything, since I'm like any other fan who sits there and bitches about SM when there's nothing better to talk about. Neither am I trying to say that Onew deserved it or what (LIKE DUH ONEW IS MY ULTIMATE BIAS IF SM CONTINUES TORTURING HIM I WILL WRITE A 1000 WORD LONG POST TO FLAME THEM). But sometimes, we should stand in the shoes of both parties to determine who is right and wrong, and not be overly-segregative when it comes to SM. (I'll try not to).
For now, I'm just hoping that ONEW would recover soon. And here's a super cute cartoon of a possible scene in his hospital room LOL.
