Monday, February 21, 2011 @ 5:39 PM 报章报道:many people (smart people, and as they say in the report, 优秀生), are not choosing JC as their choice, so that they can go to Polytechnic. They assumed that going to Poly can give you 'work experiences', and that it will give you a better chance in the society next time, and halfway, when you want to go University, you can still transfer in. Sigh... Their lives are now ruined. Utterly, totally ruined. (As in their lives won't be as good and easy as if they go JC straight. Below are the reasons.) I know, because my mother teaches at Polytechnic, and she knows everything. Everything. There is not a very good student in her Polytechnic that doesn't regret not trying out for JC. I mean like, if you are the sort of person that you know that in your life, you want to be a vet, and only Polytechnic offers vet courses, I think it's okay for you to go Poly to pursue your dreams. But for normal people like me who doesn't even know what the hell to do when I grow up, please, don't go Poly if you are smart enough to get to JC. The same thing actually applies to everything else. DOn't go for anything lower if you can reach higher. Trust me. So if you can go to Poly but you applied for ITE, or if you can go somewhere higher, but instead drop out to somewhere lower...blah blah. NEVER! 1. Discrimination. I'm sorry, even if you go to a University, the company would still not accept you, or would accept you but give you a lesser paid job, because there's a 'poly' in your degree, and this just means you're not good enough. Sorry, discrimination occurs everywhere. So just go the highest you can reach to make you look better. 2. Pttfff job experiences? Those people just assumes that Poly gives you good job experiences. So what if they give you job experiences? They give you job experiences because those people in poly are too lazy and reliant on people to find their own jobs. If you are in JC, it doesn't mean you can't go and find some jobs to do right? We must be dependent!!!! 3. You will suffer in University My mother said everybody that went to University from Poly suffers. Suffers real badly. Because in poly the students are taught only practical and hands-on stuff (to enhance job experiences...ptttfff....), and theory, math, everything else were neglected. So if you transfer from Poly to University, even if you are the top, even if you are super smart, you will still not be able to catch up in the theory or math. But of course if you work really really hard... but... it's not easy... Ps my mom says the poly math is even easier than Nanyang math. 4. You will 交坏朋友 This part is pretty obvious. My mom says she has this friend that send their children to ITE (when she could go poly), thinking that being the top in school is very good. But it turns out... that girl ended up marrying this gangster guy, and refused to come home. And many other rebellious things you would not like to hear of. 5. As the teachers say... My mom is a teacher in Poly, and she said that all her fellow colleagues, including herself, all thought their students are hopeless. Cannot be helped. 无药可救。Only like a handful of good, hardworking students. Well, you could be good and hardworking, but the teachers already have a fixed mindset. Better go somewhere higher when you will receive more 重视. Let me ask you now. Do you really want to go to somewhere lower than you can reach? NO! Reach as high as you can. If you can go JC, why do you have to go poly? Honestly, you're just ruining your life this way. Why go through all the trouble, and then in the end, end up with a low-paying job when you could have got off to an easier way, and got a high-paying salary? (same thing applies to the rest.) So, my friends, listen to me, and don't go poly. Anyway, this is just a reminder in case if that thought ever struck you. Consider carefully and don't ruin your future. You mean a lot to me and I would not like you to be criticised by my mother. Anyway...this post is quite boring... Okay here's a nice video to let you watch. It's quite queer and stuff. It's a music video with a story, but I think the story is quite hard to get, as it's quite abstract. Oh well. Watch if you need some good music to listen to. Haha you know I think I'm in love with Panic at the Disco! Damn it... loving a band is not a good thing... not a good thing... You know, the top hat theme is made popular by this band. they always wear top hat. They even dedicate a song to top hats. It's crazy. =.= Oh well, I like them in top hats :) Love them!!!!
